Time to pack your picnic basket and head west of Brisbane to the city of Ipswich, just a short drive along the M7, to enjoy a picnic at any of these glorious Ipswich locations.

Queens Park – situated at the entrance to the city of Ipswich is this well known Ipswich landmark and as history states was the first park in Queensland, dating back to 1842. Beautiful sprawling Queen’s Park encompasses a nature centre complete with native Australian animals, formal garden beds, children’s play area, hilltop lookout, even a cafe (for those that forgot the picnic basket) and lots of open picnic spaces complete with benches and tables. This is the park with something for everyone to enjoy after enjoying your picnic fare.

Colleges Crossing Recreational Reserve – the crossing is a low-lying bridge that crosses the Brisbane River at Chuwar.  The large, grassed area is perfect for family sports with bike paths and walking tracks, a BBQ facility and café.  Make a day of it and bring your picnic basket for a relaxing day out for all ages.
