To celebrate World Chocolate Day today Friday Flashback takes a look at the Darrell Lea Chocolate Shop that was once situated in Brisbane’s heritage listed Brisbane Arcade.

Founded in 1927 by confectioner Harry Lea, and named after his youngest son, Darrell, Darrell Lea has been proudly Australian owned for more than 85 years. Still a 100% family owned company, who pride themselves on making fresh quality treats, including their famous Soft Eating Liquorice and Rocklea Road®, just two of their products they have perfected since first introducing them to our shops in the 1950’s.

The photos below are of the Darrell Lea shop that was once situated in the Brisbane Arcade during the 1980’s – 1990’s.
