Brisbane’s free and fabulous food and wine festival, Regional Flavours, returns to South Bank Parklands next weekend.

Held in the splendiferous South Bank Parklands on Saturday 15 and Sunday 16 July 2017 Regional Flavours showcases the best Queensland produce brought to life by some of Australia’s top cooks, chefs and industry experts in a two-day extravaganza of food, wine and craft beer, live music, kids activities and more.

Here are my 7 reasons why you need to visit Regional Flavours next weekend.  

1. More than 50 live demonstrations across 4 live stages – The Main Stage, Queensland Taste stage, Sweet Escape and The Hunting Club are four must-visit live stages running over the Regional Flavours weekend. All 4 live stages will be presenting free cooking demonstrations, highlighting Queensland produce, where you will be able to learn from industry experts and celebrity chefs as they teach the ins-and-outs of recipes, cooking tips and food history at over 50 free demonstrations.

2. 30+ chefs and foodies – Paul West, Gary Mehigan, George Calombaris, Matt Preston, Miguel Maestre, Tobie Puttock, Jocelyn Hancock, Poh Ling Yeow, Matt Golinski and Darren Purchese are just a handful of the chefs and foodies appearing at Regional Flavours. 3. Over 80 farmers and artisans and 20 wine tasting stalls – Regional Flavours iconic Marketplace, is a market unlike any other in Brisbane. Over 80 stalls will assemble on South Bank’s Little Stanley Street, packed with assortments of cheese, wine, chocolate, fruit, herbs, pasta, and plenty more. The Marketplace will highlight 13 different growing regions throughout Queensland over Saturday 15 and Sunday 16 July from 10am – 5pm. 4. 20 street food stalls – The eatSouthBank Street Stalls will be lined up along Little Stanley Street and the Little Stanley Street Lawn.  Selling everything from cool drinks and coffee to ready-to-eat meals, snacks and desserts, all featuring fresh Queensland produce. The stalls will be open from 10am-5pm on both days of Regional Flavours, so there’s plenty of time for feasting, drinking and snacking. See the street stall vendors menus and prices here.

5. Pop up restaurants at River Quay – River Quay offers some of the best views of Brisbane and is home to a handful of Brisbane’s best restaurants. Aquitaine, Popolo Italian Kitchen and Bar, Stokehouse Q, River Quay Fish and The Jetty will set up pop-up stalls all weekend and be selling food, wine and cocktails – head along to dine, relax and enjoy Brisbane’s most stylish outdoor atmosphere. 6. 2 live music stages – Head to River Quay for live local music performances by artists including Graham Moes, Romy and Franky Smart.
