June signifys Winter in Brisbane and below are a list of some of my favourite things to do in Brisbane in June. Let me know what you like to do as the weather turns cold.

Stroll along the Camellia walk at Mt Coot-tha Botanic Gardens

June at the Mt Coot-tha Botanic Gardens is the perfect time to see the magnificent Camellia bushes in all their flowering glory. Bushes are covered with buds and flowers ranging in colour from light pink to red to white.

Feast at Fat Noodle on their Winter Warmer Banquet

This June, Fat Noodle is serving up a delicious banquet of dishes that are perfectly suited to the cooler months.  Enjoy a shared feast of prawn dumplings, Singapore mud crab with a side of steamed rice, Bo Kho beef noodle soup, a side of Lup Cheong and duck fried rice and a bottle of Morgan’s Bay Wine for only $59. Available till 30 June. I thoroughly enjoyed this sensational banquet at such a great price.

Be a bookworm at Lifeline Bookfest

The LUMUNIOUS Lantern Parade is a free event which lights up South Bank Parklands on Friday 9 June with an amazing parade of over 400 lanterns, many of which are made by community groups and schools across Brisbane.

2017 is the 10 year anniversary of the event, which is now considered a show of welcome for new Queenslanders, including refugees, international students, people seeking asylum and migrants.

Sip Winter cocktails at Stoke Bar

No one creates Winter in a cocktail like Stoke Bar at Brisbane’s famous Stokehouse Q restaurant. Sip the pretty Lavender Lime Breeze or A Berry Cold Winter or perhaps Smokey & the Bandit is more your style. Stoke Bar cocktails change seasonally and are based on the best seasonal produce available. Cheers!

Happy Winter everyone.
