Friday Flashback to vintage Brisbane of 1951 and the busy shipping wharves known as Petrie Bight. This area was once the commercial hub of Brisbane.

Today only a few of the wharves in the foreground remain and will shortly be transformed into a development to be known as the Howard Smith Wharves project. The remaining wharves in the photo are today what we know as the Riverwalk.
