‘Bris-aranda’ is a word I created to describe Brisbane during Jacaranda season.

Dockside Walk, Kangaroo Point.
Bris-aranda occurs in Spring and is the most magical time of year in Brisbane with warm days and cool crisp nights, a season when the city is covered in purple Jacaranda blooms. From city streets to riverside parks, suburban driveways to school yards splashes of purple can be seen everywhere.

New Farm
Originating from Brazil these magnificent trees bloom in Brisbane from October to November and popular locations to admire them include New Farm Park – New Farm, University of Queensland – St Lucia, Dockside Walk – Kangaroo Point, Fairfield Park – Fairfield, Butterfield Street – Herston and Wilson’s Outlook – New Farm.

University of Queensland, St Lucia campus.
