Brisbane has officially began counting down to Christmas with the lighting of the Brisbane City Christmas tree in King George Square.

The 22 metre tree is the tallest in Australia and takes a team of 7 5 days to build and decorate the tree. This year the tree has been decorated with red ribbons, gold stars, striped candy canes and metallic baubles as well as 1.5km of lights and a solar powered star.

Visit the Lord Mayor’s Christmas tree, at King George Square, everyday and night for the duration of the festive season.
