Celebrate the month of May at South Bank in so many ways, here are a few of my favourite things to do this month.

Explore the Epicurious Gardens

Food and gardening are two of the greatest joys in life and at South Bank you can enjoy both at the Epicurious Gardens. Explore the garden’s plant life and see what fresh produce looks, feels and smells like, you can even chat to the gardener volunteers (from 7-11.30am on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays) and learn about inner-city gardening. All produce in the garden is organic and is rotated seasonally throughout the year. Free produce samples are available from the harvest cart on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 7am-2pm.

Run the Mother’s Day Classic

The Women in Super Mother’s Day Classic is an annual fun run and walk raising funds and awareness for breast cancer research. The aim of the event is to deliver a fun, healthy and inspirational event that brings the community together on Mother’s Day to support and remember those touched by breast cancer. Online entries are still open till Friday May 12, more details here.

Wander thru The Collective Markets

Wander through The Collective Markets and admire the unique array of wares from jewellery and hand-made clothes to artwork, toys, homewares and more. If browsing and buying make you hungry there is always plenty of food stalls offering delicious snacks. The markets are held every Friday (5pm-9pm), Saturday (10am-9pm) and Sunday (9am-4pm) and are the only three day markets in Brisbane.
