Beautiful Brisbane Arcade – the city’s grandest and most iconic shopping destination – has been drenched with flowers in a kalidoscope of colour to create a floral themed Spring Fair.

This year’s ‘Spring Fair’ themed floral wonderland is now open to the public for one week only from September 1st to 7th.

With no detail spared, thousands of flowers have bought to life a fun–filled, fragrant ferris wheel, two carousel horses, suspended vintage bicycles overloaded with colourful blooms, decorated lamp posts, giant floral cakes and other sweet surprises making up some of the floral features of this year’s Brisbane Arcade Spring Flower Show.

This year’s installation comprises of –

920 Stems of four different types of Carnations

400 Stems of Roses

64 bunches of Delphiniums, Snapdragons, Stocks, Oriental Lily, Asiatic Lily, Sunflower, Dahlia, Erica, Easter daisy, Roses, Spray roses, Arum lily Iris, Queen Anne’s Lace, Emile and Wax flower

40 bunches of Iris, Hyacinth, Narcissus, Tulip, Ranunculi, Anemones, Stock and Snapdragons

36 bags of Moss

150 white bunches of Disbuds

150 yellow bunches of Chrysanthemums

20 stems of Gladioli

20 bunches of Strawflower

30 bunches of Lisianthus

8 buckets of mixed–colour Roses

40 bunches of Emile and 60 bunches of mix–colour Chrysanthemum Ping Pongs – WOW!

Logistically staging the Spring flower show is no mean feat. The flowers have been installed over three nights with an estimated 150 hours of manpower across 850m2 and to ensure the flowers are their freshest, and locally sourced, Brisbane Arcade has partnered with one of Brisbane’s last remaining flower farms, Redlands Fresh Flowers who have been growing the Spring Flower Show blooms since May.

The Redlands team have harvested the Brisbane Arcade Spring Flower Show flowers over the last six days with harvesting commencing at 2am each morning and each stem then being prepped for delivery to the Arcade.

This year’s floral display is a colourful journey through the Arcade evoking memories of days past, days when warm September weather meant a fun filled day at the Spring Fair.
