Pony Dining at Eagle Street Pier has always been one of my favourite restaurants. Sitting pretty on the banks of the Brisbane River at Eagle Street Pier with smouldering black interior decor undoubtedly it’s Pony’s exquisite menu that is her ultimate drawcard.
My love affair with Pony began in 2016 and recently I was invited to dine again under the reins of new head chef Michael Crosbie, with the bar held high from my previous visits I was curious if the restaurant would continue to live up to my expectations … and undoubtedly it did.
Fresh flavours, exquisite plating and superior service are the three qualities that stood out for me during our visit. Serving modern Australian cuisine and famous for their wood fire grill the star meals from our lunch visit were the spanner crab entree complete with delicate pops of fish roe and so beautifully plated, the lamb rump perfectly pink and unbelievably melt-in-your-mouth and the elegantly presented milk and honey parfait.
